Microsoft Surface Event: Uncover the Latest AI-Powered Innovations from Copilot to Bing
Microsoft held its Surface Event 2023 in New York today, revealing the latest additions to its product lineup, including the Surface Laptop Studio 2 and Surface Laptop Go 3. This marked Microsoft’s first in-person event since the pandemic, but surprisingly, it was not live-streamed, which is atypical for a tech company aiming to generate excitement for its offerings. Over the past few years, Microsoft has placed significant emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI), and following the Microsoft Build Event 2023, the company has now unveiled numerous new AI features.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella took to the stage to highlight two specific AI breakthroughs – a new natural user interface and an inference engine, according to Tom’s Guide. These two changes have enabled computers to understand people, places and things.

1. Director
Several updates to Microsoft Copilot have been announced. First, it comes to all Microsoft services as an AI companion – from Windows and Bing to Office. “We believe Copilot will fundamentally change our relationship with technology,” Nadella announced of the unified Copilot. In Windows 11, Copilot is not presented as a separate application, but is integrated into the entire user experience. This means all the different copilots. Microsoft applications are available together in a seamless way. They will be released for Windows 11 on September 26.
2. Bing
The tech giant also announced that Bing AI will get personalized results. This means it will only show you the results that matter to you. One of the most intriguing features is its ability to accept image feeds. In theory you can show it a power source and it will tell you if it works in another country or not. Edge’s Bing AI also helps you find coupons when you shop. It also helps you find the best deals on different sites. Moving to Bing Search, the platform also gets a powerful new tool called Personalized Answers, which uses your search history to tailor search results to your needs. Bing Chat Enterprise is also getting a new set of features for the Edge mobile app.
3. Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 Copilot is available to business customers from November 1. Controllers can do a lot of things in different applications. It can summarize the day’s emails and reach you in minutes, with contextual writing so you don’t miss the point of what’s being said to you. Copilot “Understands the constraints and thinks about options to solve the problem,” said Colette Stallbaumer, general manager of Microsoft 365, according to TechRadar.
It can also search the Internet for you and find relevant results for you. You can also see the answer sources in its footnotes for more information.
